Ram Oren, Trumpet (Israel)
Ram Oren, former fellow first trumpet in the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra for 32 years until the end of 2023.
A graduate of Thelma Yelin High School and during his military service he was a soloist in the IDF Orchestra. He completed a bachelor’s degree at Indiana University in Bloomington and studied in New York and Chicago with Philip Smith, Vincent Cikowitz and Arnold Jacobs. He played in many musicals in the USA and returned to Israel as principal trumpeter in the Israel Broadcasting Authority Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra where he played for 7 years. After a year in the Israel Symphony Orchestra – Rishon LeZion, he joined the Israel Philharmonic.
He has appeared as a soloist with the Philharmonic Orchestra, the Jerusalem Broadcasting Authority Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow Virtuosos Orchestra with Yevgeny Kissin and Vladimir Spivakov, “Moscow Soloists” by Yuri Bashmet, “Bach Soloists from Munich”, the Israeli Camerata Orchestra, the Kibbutz Chamber Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Armenia and also Appeared in recitals in Russia, Canada, USA and Germany. He participated in many festivals such as “Chamber Music in the Upper Galilee” in Kfar Blum, the Abu Gosh Festival and more, he recorded for the radio and often performs in recitals and chamber music. In the past he was a member of the teaching staff at the IDF Orchestra College and taught master classes in Israel and abroad.
He was a visiting professor at the School of Music of the University of Manitoba in Canada, where he taught trumpet and orchestral and chamber music, and often appeared in various ensembles as a soloist.
As a music teacher, he belongs to the teaching staff at Buchman-Mehta and manages a private studio.
